Study Name: Understanding Pain and Limitations in Osteoarthritic Disease (UPLOAD)-2

Purpose of the study

This study examines ethnic group differences in clinical symptoms, systemic inflammation, psychosocial functioning, and pain-related central nervous system (CNS) structure and function after baseline and over a four-year follow-up period among older adults with knee osteoarthritis.

Who is eligible?

  • People between 45 and 85 years of age with knee pain.
  • Participate previously in the UPLOAD-2 study and willing to complete an additional time point assessment

What will happen if I participate?

Visits will include a medical history and physical exam, a series of brain imaging tests, tests of your thinking and memory, completing questionnaires, sensory tests to see how you feel painful and non-painful sensations, and blood sample collection
