Study Name: Study of Pain Catastrophizing (SPAC-2)
Purpose of the study
To understand the mechanisms by which cognitive processes influence pain processing.
Who is eligible?
- 45-85 years old
- Have knee pain
What will happen if I participate?
This study is safe, non-invasive, and does not involve medication. Participants must be 45-85 years old and be able to attend three 2 – 3.5 hours laboratory sessions in which responses during brain imaging and pain sensation testing are assessed before and after a brief pain education intervention on pain processing. Compensation will be provided.
