Friday, January 22: Spotlight
Meet Pedro Hernandez, one of PRICE’s postdoctoral research fellows working in the Cruz-Almeida Lab. Pedro is currently working on the development of neuroimaging-based signatures of acute and chronic pain. His goal is to provide new avenues for the development of potential biomarkers of diagnosis, monitoring, prognosis, prediction, and risk of chronic pain. Pedro has always tried to put his neuroimaging knowledge and skills at the service of society, specifically to alleviate the societal burden that different pathologies entail. In his search, he found that chronic pain is one particular condition that is causing a very significant negative impact on society. In the future, Pedro’s goal is to dedicate his life to academia and science. When not at work, Pedro’s best hobby is his family and reading about history, politics, and science.
