Jared Tanner is a Research Assistant Professor in the College of Public Health and Health Professions and a PRICE member. Dr. Tanner is involved in research assessing relationships between chronic pain, surgical interventions for pain, and brain structure and function. His research interests started with a focus on understanding dementia and aging using brain imaging techniques. Dr. Tanner’s interest in pain research has been more recently when he became involved with a grant looking at pain, health disparities, and the brain. Dr. Tanner hopes to continue examining how health disparities interact with pain, cognitive aging, and medical interventions, such as major surgery. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with my family, church service, exercising, 3D printing, playing games, and reading.
