This Week At PRICE (May 22nd to May 26th)

Editorial on Critical Discovery

EditorialStar

Critical discovery uniquely, judiciously, and analytically examines cultural and structural mechanisms of pain inequities, centers the perspectives of people with lived experiences with chronic pain, applies the intersectionality framework in real-time or “realistically”, and develops innovative methodologies to interrogate the impact of social and political determinants of health on pain.

Dr. Star Booker, Assistant Professor and affiliate of PRICE, has recently had an editorial highlighted in Gait and Posture.

In their editorial, Advancing critical discovery of novel approaches to understanding and eliminating pain inequities; Dr. Booker, alongside Drs. Calia Morais and Ericka Merriwether, sought to better support critical discovery, which, despite a renewed focus on pain disparities, remains an opportunity and necessity when it comes to research in chronic pain.
