The Pain and Aging Journal club is an excellent opportunity for faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students, and staff of various disciplines to interact and address the complexity of pain research. Feel free to share or invite others to this monthly event.
School is back in session and the Pain and Aging Journal Club is once again holding presentations! Join us for the first Thursday of every month as we cover new and emerging studies and breakthroughs in pain research. Take part in an open forum conducted by peers and experts in the field!
This coming September, Logan Rodgers PT, DPT will lead a discussion on the following article: “Manual therapy effects on nonspecific neck pain are not mediated by mechanisms related to conditioned pain modulation: a randomized control trial.” The study investigates pain-free compared to painful manual therapy interventions for chronic nonspecific neck pain. The article discusses the conditioned pain modulation paradigm in an attempt to explain the analgesic mechanisms of manual therapy.
