Articles on Alcohol

Alcohol has long been understood to reduce pain intensity and increase pain threshold. What effect and relief can it deliver to someone experiencing chronic pain? In ‘Expectancy of Alcohol Analgesia Moderates Perception of Pain Relief Following Acute Alcohol Intake’ PRICE affiliate Jeff Boissoneault, alongside other researchers based at the University of Minnesota, tested pain relief for individuals with and without chronic orofacial pain.

The results of the study highlighted the alcohol-related risks for individuals experiencing pain.

The study has been published in Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology and can be found here!
