The Pain and Aging Journal club is an excellent opportunity for faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students, and staff of various disciplines to interact and address the complexity of pain research. Feel free to share or invite others to this monthly event.
Every first Thursday of each month, we cover new and emerging studies and breakthroughs in pain research. Take part in an open forum conducted by peers and experts in the field!
This December, Dr. Ariana Brice-Tutt will lead the discussion on the following article: “Age and sex drive different behavioral and neuroimmune phenotypes during postoperative pain.” This preclinical study examined sex and age-related differences in neuroimmune phenotypes and pain responses following a plantar incision in rats to better understand mechanisms that may lead to improved postoperative pain management in elderly patients.
