Testing in Opioids May Push Pharmacogenomics
A new article, “Implementing a pragmatic clinical trial to tailor opioids for chronic pain on behalf of the IGNITE ADOPT PGx investigators” was recently published in Clinical and Translational Science. Amongst the 30 researchers who co-authored the study were Roger Fillingim as well as Larisa Cavallari.
The article focuses on a clinical trial aimed at improving how opioids are prescribed for people with chronic pain using a personalized approach based on a person’s unique genetic makeup known as pharmacogenomics with the goal of easy integration into everyday medical practice.
