Star0202

In a study recently published in Pain Medicine, Star Booker and Burel Goodin worked alongside researchers from The University of Alabama at Birmingham to understand how chronic pain stigma and racial discrimination interact to influence pain experiences in Black and White individuals with chronic low back pain.

The findings of the study highlighted the ways that chronic pain stigma and racial discrimination interacted differently for Black and White individuals and highlighted the need for more nuanced approaches in managing chronic pain in racially diverse populations.
