2. Tell us about your current program of research and/or activities and projects that you are currently involved in.

I am an undergraduate research volunteer in Dr. Cruz-Almeida's PAIN Lab, where the lab's research is focused on understanding how pain modulation can contribute to different phenotypes in older adults.

4. Where do you see your career going in the future? What are your goals and aspirations?

Currently, I am pursing a a double major in Nutritional Sciences and Spanish. After graduation, I plan to attend dental school to pursue a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.

5. Tell us something fun that you do in your spare time or any hobbies that you enjoy.

I am currently on the UF Women's Club Volleyball Team; therefore, I love to play volleyball in my spare time. I also like to work out and help others with their fitness goals through online coaching.

3. Tell us about how you got involved in pain and/or aging research. Was there a moment that inspired you?

One major contributor for my involvement in pain research is a serious injury I endured in high school. I had three knee surgeries on my left knee, and my doctor had told me that the risk of getting osteoarthritis earlier in life was going to be high. Therefore, the current project I am working on in the PAIN Lab is helping me understand what I may have to cope with in the future, and may possibly be the key to preventing any pain I may have as well.
