On April 4th, 2018, Dr. Star Booker won the Robert A. Levitt Award in Aging Research from Oak Hammock Institute for Learning in Retirement; Gainesville, Florida, for her project titled: Predicting Older African Americans’ Engagement in Recommended Management for Osteoarthritis Pain.
On April 14th, 2018, Dr. Booker won the Midwest Nursing Research Society, Symptom Science RIG Dissertation Award; Cleveland, Ohio, for her project titled: Help for Osteoarthritis Pain in African American Elders (HOPE): Patterns, Predictors, and Preferences of Osteoarthritis and Chronic Joint Pain Self-Management.
